Glove Box & Seat Questions

So I've got a 2006 SR5, and I had a couple quick questions I was hoping some of you might be able to assist me with.

1. I'm going to replace the glove box light with a new one, and all I could find was the standard 2721 Sylvania Longlife bulb. Given that I replaced all of the rest of the cabin lighting with LED equivalents, I was curious if there is an LED equivalent to the 2721 bulb. I've searched around, and I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is correct. Any suggestions on LED bulbs for the glove box? (Assuming that's the thing.) Worst case I'm just going to use the standard bulb I bought, but figured I'd at least ask.

2. I want to clean underneath the driver and passenger seats up front, and looking through my Haynes manual it seems like a relatively simple affair, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the case. Does anyone have any experience removing either of the two front seats? Just thought I'd pick your brains about it if any of you have suggestions or tips.

Thank you all for your time.

I don't have much on the glovebox light, but I have removed a power seat in an 05 Sienna chair side air bags. Remove the negative battery cable first, then there should be 4 bolts holding the seat. Once all the bolts are removed, lean the seat back and unplug any connectors underneath. Any yellow cable is most likely for the airbag, but I didn't have any trouble with them. From there, you should be good to remove the seat and clean underneath.

If for any reason you feel unconformable with unplugging the seat connections, you could probably get a vacuum under there without unplugging anything. If I remember correctly, there was enough slack in the Sienna cables to rock the seat back a decent amount.

For the glove box it’s a 74 led size. Here’s a link for the one I got. It’s nice and bright.
74 LED Bulb - 3 SMD LED - Miniature Wedge Base | Super Bright LEDs

It was a bear to get out, I had trouble trying to open the little access hatch (if you will) so I just went through the grille. Wrapped electrical tape around my needle nose to get it out and put in the new one.

It’s a ton brighter than the factory one. Factory is actually so dim I didn’t even know there was a light there. It’s brighter than it looks in the picture here.

Thanks for the link! I ordered an LED bulb so hopefully it shows up soon and I can try it out.

If the improvement is the same as it was with the remainder of the cabin LED lights I installed, then it will have been worth the money.

As for the seats, I was able to get what I needed to get done by just removing the bolts and pushing the seats back far enough and at an angle.

Next up...some possible bumper repairs and possibly replacing the tail lights and their bulbs (LED recommendations?).

I didn't even know that we had a glove box light until this thread popped up, turns out my bulb was blown. That will be rectified today. Thanks, t4r.org users for helping me spend more money

Glad I could help! Ha ha.

My LED bulb for my glove box just showed up so I'm going to put it in tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how it looks. Redoing the rest of the cabin with LED lights gave me good results.

Got the bulb installed and it's a big improvement although I have to say getting the glove box in and out was...interesting.

Perhaps license plate lights next...

LED everything! They are 100% brighter and more clear than the factory bulbs. And personally, I went with red LEDs for the front map lights - still useable light, and they don't blind you while driving at night. Plus they look sweet,!
