Xenon Depot Xtreme LED Pro Review

I'm doing several lighting upgrades and decided to start by replacing the halogens with LEDs. I've been running Sylvania SilverStars for several years and I think they are the best of the halogens but can't come close to the lumens produced by a good set of LEDs. The Xenon Xtreme LED Pros have received good reviews and I made the purchase last week. As part of the project, I also replaced the OEM headlight housings with a good quality aftermarket housing (CAPA and NSF certified).

Install was reasonably straight-forward even for a 2-banana mechanic like me. It's easy to get confused by the wiring/plug-in sequence, but there's a very good install video here that explains what goes to where:

Get 3x the light output from this LED bulb! | 2014-2019 4Runner Xtreme Led Pro Install - YouTube

The vehicle in the video is a 5th gen 4Runner, but installation instructions are identical. As expected, I ran into polarity issues and had to unplug and flip two of the connectors after checking functionality the first time. It's honestly a guess - the plugs aren't labeled and it's impossible to distinguish + from - . I did remove the battery to install the driver's side. It was impossible to angle the low beam bulb into the housing without doing so.

But I ran into a bigger issue - the H11 low beam bulbs fit poorly into the headlight housing. At first I though the aftermarket housing may be a bit out of spec, but I plugged the LED H11 bulbs into the OEM housing I had just removed and had the same exact issue. They "fit" but there is no solid, reassuring click into place like there is with the OEM blubs. There's barely any resistance, at all, when the bulb is rotated into place and once seated as well as they'll seat there is a slight wiggle. I don't have much confidence these are going to stay in place when I take it off road.

The 9005 high beam LEDs fit much better but still not as solidly as the OEM bulbs. I do feel they fit well enough that they're going to stay in place.

I thought I took more "before" pictures but it turns out I only have one of the low beams.

And here are the after with low and high beam projected against the garage door and from the front looking at the lights.
