I went to a local dealer and tried to get them to price match an online price that was much better, and they told me to go through the entire cart process to see what the total with shipping was, then we’d talk. So, I did it right there on my phone, and sure enough, it ended up being a couple dollars cheaper just getting them at the local dealer, and they had them the next day! Not saying this is always the case, but definitely worth doing some research before buying.

True, I agree some research is worth doing on prices. McGeorge just happens to be both the local deal and the online suggestion. Depending on what you're getting, it may be worth it to pick up locally. Sometimes the convenience of getting it the same day is worth the extra price. Shipping is never really crazy for me, but it doesn't have to go far.
When I first used McGeorge, they explained that some stuff is 20-30% cheaper online since its wholesale or something. Pretty much just need to find something online that ships for less than 20% of its online price. For example when I was looking for CV axles, in person from them was $500, but if you order online its $350ish+$27 shipping. Shipping is probably a decent amount for a CV out of state, but on something with that kinda price difference, it'll probably be a savings.
I can understand how something smaller like radio bracket would approach similar cost, I picked up a fuel tank strap pin in person since it was $11 vs $9+ship online. Same with the 06+ headlight wiring.
In person quotes also depend on the parts guy. Whenever I've been or call, they say something like "the price is $32, but I can do $21 today" and it varies on the sales guy haha. I was quoted both $21 and $15 for the $32 passenger CV diff seal on two different days from two different guys. So you bet I picked 3 of them up in person for $15 when I tore a few of them lol. McGeorge also won't match their online price, which is lame. Would save them the effort of shipping and me the shipping costs
Sorry OP for taking this on a dealership pricing tangent lol
