Catalytic Converter

Does anyone ever had a problem with their front catalytic converter? Mine is giving a rattle sound and I'm not sure if that's normal for 80,000 mileage 4runner. Anyone who had the same problem let me know what to do. Need help, very annoying sound

Not sure if that is "normal" for a 4Runner, but I used to have an old 1981 Plymouth/Mitsubishi Champ and the catalyitic converter would rattle for the first few miles of driving.

Once the car warmed up, the rattle ceased and the car was as quiet as could be expected for what it was.

Maybe it is not really the catalytic converter itself, but the heat shield that surrounds it.

It's a 2003 4runner, and I think you're right, when its cold the heat shield that sorrounds it rattles but when it gets warm, it becomes quiet. But how can I just change the heat shield and what causes it to rattle?
