Where can I get shocks?

I guess Bilstein is back-ordered and apparently all the online sellers claiming to have inventory are just doing drop-shipping and lying about it.

I would prefer a set of 4 of the B6, does anyone know where I can find a set so I can put this truck together?

If that's not an option is there another equivalent or better brand that will actually ship this week?

Hmm they appear to show shocks in stock.

How are they?

Also if I wanted to spring for the complete lift kit how would that be? Any issues with brake lines, wheel rub, pinion angle or any other crap? Not looking for an ongoing project but a bit of a lift would be fun.

They are very decent for the price. Like softer 5100.

As long as you stay at or below 2" of lift there is no real need to modify anything else. As far as wheel rub -- that would depend on the wheel size.

I run the eibiach shocks with OME springs. Rides good. People say they are better than the Bilstein shocks.

Anything special I need to know? So far the only tip I have is to jack up the corners before torqueing things down so the bushings sit right.

Nah. Drop the truck on the ground before torquing fully. The top bolts, torque those to spec. But the bushings on the LCA, leave that one somewhat loose, then torque on the ground.

GL with that alignment, it's going to wander all over the road at highway speed. The camber and castor are not even close L to R.

The XREAS system is REALLY GOOD [for a truck suspension] so I have to compare to that. It's about 90% as good as XREAS, with the one deficiency being added body roll / movement, which might also be a factor from the lift. In the Eibach's defense, the suspension feels WAY more stout, like you can just roll over anything in your path. I would buy again. Build quality was solid.

I did the install myself, along with new tie-rod ends, top hats, and upper / lower control arms. And a ton of other things -- I ended up taking about a month to just rehab the car in general as I am inheriting it from the wife. Overall I found the car a joy to work on with only some minor complaints about clearance for bolt access.
