Cracked Manifold - Alternative to Doug Thorley (Out of Stock)?
Can anyone recommend an alternative? My manifold on my 2008 4.7 L is cracked and I do not want to spend money on an OEM or aftermarket solution that sucks. Is Magnaflow an option?
Thanks

1-800 Radiator & AC carries a tubular version of the manifold with CAT that should not crack like the OEM cast ones. I just sold a right side one a couple of weeks ago that was bought before the Thorley headers were installed. They are not cheap, I think around $500, but still cheaper than the cast OEM that WILL just crack again.

I put Pacesetter exhaust manifolds on my 4R in June of 2018, and I’m happy with them.
They were less than $400 for the pair, and included the catalytic converters.
They’re also direct replacements for the stock manifolds, no other parts needed.

The DTs are worth the wait if you can manage. The Shorties totally changed my truck.
Anything that looks like the OEM manifolds while they may not suffer from the cracking issues, they won't do anything for power which is a big portion of the benefits of doing the work.

Can’t Wait for Thorleys
10 weeks is too long. Pacesetters seem to have too many negative reviews. Not sure I can pull the trigger on a manifold from a place called 1-800 Radiators. any other suggestions?

They are not a retail supplier, they are a supply house for professional mechanics, but do as your comfort level requires. You asked for suggestions, and I gave you one I knew to be good, that’s all...

Totally appreciate the recommendation! Just frustrated there is no clear solution for me right now.

Thanks, Jason!
After looking at all the crappy aftermarket options for manifolds, I decided to order DT Long Tube headers, a Y pipe, and a Gibson CB exhaust from Jason at Burtman Industries.
It will save me money over the long term, avoid welding new pipes to rusty old ones, give me a bolt-on solution from front to back - all with a great sound, better gas mileage and a bit of extra power.
Now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks because the headers are back ordered...
Thanks, Jason!

Be prepared for longer than 6-8 weeks. I was told the same. I ordered mine (long tubes and y-pipe) on May 1st and haven't received all pieces for 120 days.. yes, that's 20 weeks. Last update from Jason at Burtman Industries was over a month ago.
