Sockets off road

Looking for a list of what sockets we need off road for our T4Rs. I hate bringing my entire socket set. Just want to throw the essentials in my recovery kit and go!

Most stuff can be done with a 10, 12, 19, and 35mm for CV axle nut. May need 8, 14 or 17mm for some things, but don't think I've encountered any. If you've added other bolts that aren't OEM like new skid plate bolts, you may need a 13mm for the US spec m8 bolts

I take, or should take, nearly every socket I have. I depends on what aftermarket parts you have but between my front LT kit, shocks, and everything I need a variety of Metric and Imperial sizes, and some need deep sockets too. Not to mention oil drain and fill port allens and sockets for tcase and F/R diffs.

Don’t forget your 21 mm for your lug nuts. I’d definitely include a 17 for any suspension/brake components.

I bring my 1/2” impact wrench and impact drill with a 3/8” adapter.

1/2” sockets: 17, 19, 21, 35, straight extension, wobble extension, short pivoting extension

3/8” sockets: the 8 in this set 3/8 in. Drive Metric Impact Socket Set, 8 Pc.

Also carry a bunch of box wrenches (you need one if you want to replace a wheel bearing), and a torque wrench.

Tbh, sockets (and most other tools) are small and not that heavy. Added weight is a small price to pay for having the right socket for a repair.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Safe bet is on continuing to bring the regular toolbox. Now I have a better understanding of which may be most impactful went on the trails.
