Alternative to roof rack end caps

Lost a roof rack end cap to wind and/or a car wash. Anyone have any alternative idea for the stock roof rack that will look OK? Or am I just stuck buying cheap ebay ones and hoping they stay?

If you want to fork out some $$$ I think they're $50-100 at the dealer... each

The dealer is not that expensive. I think it $18 for TWO.

My sport P/N

$18.53 from my local dealer:

For replacing, EBay has them 4 for 30$, which isn't that bad.

At this point I'm pretty close to just saying "screw it, off roader" xD

Had that happen twice now on my sport rack. Put some zip-ties around them and assume it will be fine now.

One of mine popped off a while back. I ran a thin bead of clear silicone adhesive around the edge when installing. Holding up fine after 3 years.

I wish the end caps didn't have to come off to remove the roof rack rails. I've been wanting to slide them out to cut down on a little wind noise/resistance (so I can get that extra .00000002 mpg) but I don't want to risk cracking the tabs off.

I've been considering that or some black RTV since I have that on hand.

Old thread but thank you for this. I didn't even think of zip ties. My sport rack lost the driver side covers and the new ones barely stay in even with the new metal inserts.
