Questions on Hammering the Pinch Weld
My 33s are rubbing the rear fender/pinch weld at full stuff. I'm not hitting the body mount (yay FJ Cruiser wheels!), which I put some chalk on to verify. Chalk was undisturbed after wheeling and hearing the rub noise.
My questions:
1) Do I remove both the liner and fender? Or just the liner?
2) Do I completely remove the fender liner? Or just until I get access to the weld?
3) Once the pinch weld is flattened, how do I move the liner/fender backwards? Or do I just get rid of the liner? Is that a viable option
If I need to remove the fender liners, I may just wait and do this when I replace the bumper this winter.
I've had a really hard time visualizing where the pinch weld was until recently, which definitely effected how willing I was to try this. Now I just need to understand how the pieces fit together.
