Rattling side view mirrors

My side view mirrors rattle like crazy! I’ve seen the few threads on here about tightening the 3 bolts that connect the mirror housing to the mount or the missing rubber vibrational pads in that same connection.

The mirrors currently on mine are aftermarket units, put on there by the previous owner because the OEM ones were rattling too.

I tried replacing the 3 bottom bolts with some stainless hex heads. Even if those are super tight, the mirror moves around a bunch. I’ve watched videos about taking the mirror apart and can’t get these apart. I wonder if these aftermarket ones are constructed a bit different from the OEM ones.

Long story short, aftermarket mirrors are cheap so I’m thinking of swapping to a fresh set cuz it can’t get any worse. Has anyone swapped to aftermarket mirrors? If so, how bad do they vibrate compared to OEM? My experience with my previous vehicles is unless it’s OEM, the mirror is always going to vibrate a bit.

I bought an auto shack mirror off amazon to replace one that hit some manzanita. It was black with heating elements. I had to paint it and all said and done I have zero complaints.

It does the job and no rattling. That being said my OEM one has 496,5000 miles on it and no rattling.
