V8 Starter Replacement - Part # Request for rear coolant crossover gasket

Well - Let me tell you, getting the starter out of the V8 equipped 4Runner's is a blast. Mine failed on me while on a trail @ 251,000 miles. Pretty good service life, but I'd sacrifice replacing every 100,000 miles if they'd just stick it under the vehicle.

Getting the intake manifold off and gaining access to the starter is actually pretty straightforward. Getting the starter off is the more challenging part.

I decided to pull what I can only describe as a "rear coolant crossover" to gain access to the right side starter bolt for removal. I do not want to reuse those gaskets and risk a leak once everything is buttoned back up. I can't seem to find a diagram or reference part number anywhere, so I'm hoping one of you good folks will be able to help me out. I can snap a picture of what I'm talking about if needed, but it's a cast piece that bridges the rear "v" of the engine and is held in place by 2x studs/nuts on both the LH/RH sides. It sure would be handy to have part numbers before going to NAPA. Elk season starts back up in 3 days, and I'd rather not hunt out of my Subaru if possible!

Wait, they have an elk season? In the Great Smoky Mountain National Park they say they will charge you $1000 if you accidentally kill one with your car. And you don't get to keep the elk. They're trying to build up the once non existent elk population. Sorry this post did nothing to help you.

I'm no longer technically "DavisTN". I moved to Carbondale, CO on the western slope of the Rockies about 3 years ago. There is a special draw hunt in TN/GSMNP on the Cumberland Plateau(?), but I think they only have 500 tags/year. Elk hunting was a big part of why I moved here - along with rafting, boarding, hiking, fishing, wheeling, etc.

I found the part # - in case this helps anybody in the future, the gasket part # is 16356A - Gasket (water by-pass joint, rear). And the link to the most helpful walk-through writeup, which is for a Tundra. Still a 2UZ-FE:

Glad you found that part #, no thanks to me, lol. Thanks for enlightening me about the elk hunt. I'm not a hunter but mostly just curious. If I was a hunter, I'd certainly be hunting them. All I know about elk are those in the GSMNP are fiercely protected. That, and it's a wonder there aren't more wrecks on 441 due to the lookers. We almost rear ended someone last year who had stopped between two close together curves near Newfound Gap at dusk just to look at one.

Any chance you can re-post the file/link? It doesn't seem to work. Thanks!

Sorry to leave you hanging. I believe this would be the gasket you're looking for: 1634150020 - Toyota Gasket. System. Cooling. OUTLET. Line. 4.3 LITER. 4.7 LITER. Front. Rear | Toyota Parts Overstock, Lakeland FL

The above link is for the REAR bypass joint gasket. Hope you got it squared away. Knock on wood, no leaks or further issues with starter after I bolted mine back together. 280K and counting.
