Aftermarket Stereo Tweeters

Installing a new stereo and wiring the front and back speakers into the harness. I understand that the doors have tweeters in them.

Does this just piggy back off of the front speakers? Ive never seen a toyota harness with them included.

Yea the front speaker wire is just a single pair for each side. It runs to the tweeter first and then then the woofer.

I hope you don't mind me jumping into your post here. I've also been thinking about changing out my tweeters. They're the only part of the system I've been disappointed with since installing my Sony head unit. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for some decent, affordable tweeters that will fit without too much modification.

No way. I couldn't be happier with it. Why would you suggest that?

In my opinion, the headunit isn’t the problem. Are you looking to replace just the tweeters or upgrade to component speakers in the front doors?

When I posted my question about the tweeters I thought I would just upgrade them. Then I started looking at speakers. Now, I'm not sure. I may end up upgrading the bottom speakers in the front doors as well. The thing is, since I put the Sony HU in, the factory speakers really sound good. They put out a ton of bass, at least for a factory, door speaker. The only thing that's a little weak is the crisp clear highs. It's not bad, just seems like it could be a little better. It's also possible that my 61 year old ears, after a lifetime of working with air tools and listening to rock music, just aren't hearing the high pitches, lol. I'm open for suggestions. Again, sorry for hijacking your thread.

JBL system

I just purchased a 2005 4runner and I love it. While it came with the op manual, etc, I'm not figuring out the answer I need.

I would like to upgrade the radio and I'm finding the question if I have the JBL system or not. How do I find out if I do?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you!

Oh, and how do I know if it's with or without RDS?

Does anyone have recommendations for a good Sirius compatible radio that can sync with my phone?
