Climate Control Gap

Re-assembling the climate control and noticed a panel gab that I swear wasnt there before. I cannot figure out why its sticking out?! The climate control only has 4 tab that snap in and I feel the top 2 click first then the bottom 2, but then Im left with this gap on both sides. Any ideas? I dont think it was like this before. There's nothing in the way behind it ? sometimes things to be persuaded to move...tried pushing on it ? Anything to compare it to ? Google images ?

Couldnt get any clear enough google images of the angle. I wonder if anyone could take a look in their 4runner and let me know if their gap is snug or sticking out like this. It just doesn't seem right.

Theres not much behind it, but ill check again. Ive watched multiple videos and it seems to just snap in like mine, but instead I have this gap.

Can't say if I have a gap of any kind around mine at all. Check the clips as they are easy to bend and not allow you to fit them all the way.

I did also find this from a another post
Lights on A/C + climate buttons not lit up?

I’ve pulled that pc out multiple times and have never had an issue putting it back in. I can’t recall a gap like that.
I can only think of two things.
Maybe the wiring harness is not going back to its original position and not letting you push that pc back all the way.
Or, maybe something got stuck in the hole, preventing the clips from fully engaging.
That’s about all the help I can be. Or maybe it was always like that?

I went back into the truck and pushed it in again and it had to have been like that from the start. Ive pushed pretty hard and everything snaps together.

I think i'll call it good. Thanks for the replies.
