Rear Hatch Glass Up/Down Mod Needed
I find the rear hatch glass window going down thru key fob to be nice and convenient, but to roll it back up you've got to use the key, and that sucks. Someone had told me there might be a mod out there. I searched all over and can't find anything close.
On another forum there was a mod where someone developed a kit so you could roll window from inside trunk using a permanent switch and pop open the lift gate using another push button; on the same circuit - something he developed for camping, so obviously you have to be inside trunk to access those switches. How about a mod to roll glass window up and down using key fob?

I did the push button release mod but but the glass mod for sleeping inside. It was quite easy, I thought.

I followed the directions in the thread linked and it was an easy mod. I find rolling up the rear glass with the key fob to be very useful.
Feel free to ask questions if you don't understand something listed in that thread.

I just had an idea regarding a hack, and am I wondering if this even makes any sense. My purpose of getting glass to roll up is after loading stuff thru a rolled down window, I wanna be able to get it closed without having to get back in the truck.
How about getting glass closing switch from a donor vehicle, splicing into wires of existing closing switch, and running wires to the back trunk wall where donor switch could be mounted for easy access from outside truck. After I'm done loading my stuff through that open hatch, I'd quickly close glass using that newly mounted donor switch. So, basically window would have 2 switches, front and back. Will that even work? Crazy, I know!

That is doable and has been down before. There is a published mod on here that does that for people who sleep in the back and want a manual switch back there.

A question about that mod/switch though... since you're pulling from the hatch signal, does it have the 'auto up/auto down' feature, or is it similar to the key where you have to constantly hold it... If there was a way to clone the signal from the center dash... now that would be slick! (but it doesn't work with the ignition off :/ )

The mod mentioned in other threads for those camping and sleeping in their 4R would not satisfy this request, as their mod switch is not a one-push, you'd need to keep your finger on switch until glass is rolled all the way up, obviously while you're inside. I need a one-push switch, like the one on center console, to do the job, as I'd be outside the truck trying to close it and head out for my business.
My question still stands, can this be done using method I mentioned in here, thread #7?

I see what you're trying to do now. You cannot simply wire another switch in parallel. The issue at hand is you would have to get ignition power or constant power to the switch you wire in.
The rear window ECU may also play into this.
