Getting my tires installed today and..
Some of you who read my posts my know that I recently bought a set of General Grabber ATx's. I'm just getting around to having them installed today. Only took about an hour and they called to let me know it was ready. I took a little drive with it and at about 55+ MPH the vibration started and the steering wheel was shaking pretty badly. I took it back and they're supposed to recheck it. Now I'm waiting nervously to see if they can get it straight. I read too many posts on here where people had to keep taking it back over and over and ended up getting different tires. I just hope that's not gonna be the case for me. I'll update later today after I get it back again. (Fingers crossed)

bummer about the vibration, hopefully the shop can rebalance them or determine if one or more is defective. i have read a lot about steering wheel shimmy on these 4runners with many different brands of tires. some needed to be road force balanced to stop it. best of luck!

good luck. i just had Wildpeaks put on by a shop and first highway drive was a little bit of an adventure. I checked the tire pressure and the rear drivers tire was at 41 and the rest were at 33...

Update: I picked it up again and drove it a few miles and it's much better now. I felt a slight vibration at about 69-70 mph which didn't present itself in the steering wheel. It was really slight and above and below those speeds it isn't present so I'm gonna leave it at that. I may change my mind after some more driving but for now I'm happy. I was so worried it was gonna be like the horror stories I've read. And they look really good on there too. Now, if I can just get my wife to see the need for TRD Pro rims I'll be set.

I got some Grabber ATX's on a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues, luckily! Balancing bigger tires has always been a pain, it seems.
I love the tires, though. Great traction, quiet on road. I've been really impressed.

I'm very happy with them too. I've only driven on them a little so far but the road manners are very good for an A/T tire. And I love the look of them. I think I'm really gonna like them.

I meant to mention too that my offroading consists mostly of gravel and dirt forest service roads in the mountains of western NC and eastern Tenn. I'll be back up there in a couple of weeks and I'm sure I'll drive a few miles of these roads. But I doubt that it will tell me anything about the capability of these tires, lol. But I'm sure eventually I'll come to a washout, or some mud on one of these roads and I'll be glad I've got these tires.

I think they did road force at least two of them when I took it back. I saw markings on the wheels and tires that let me think they had to rotate the tires on the rims.
