I took my pedal commander out. Did not like it. Had it on a v8.
All it does is open up the throttle blade earlier. It was not consistent. Sometimes it was controlled, sometimes it was too touchy.

To answer your question, the Pedal Commander site lists the same model (PC 27) for the 4th and 5th gens. I also realize you are also talking about knockoffs.

I was searching more for reviews on the knockoffs.

There are some reviews on Youtube, just on different cars. One individual had it for 7-9 months, still working. Will keep it updated if there is interest, but hopefully some may bite the bullet and test it with me.

Yeah, I'm aware of what they do. Did you end up selling it?

Not sure what site you're looking at, but they're listed separately. PC38 for 4th Gen, PC27 for 5th Gen.

The pc27 has been on my 2019 for about a year now with no issues. There are posts out there where units have failed whether it be PC or Sprint Booster. What'll happen is a sudden loss of power so be aware of the consequences of cheaping out as it might occur more often with the knockoffs at the most inopportune times. Either way, I'm happy with the PC as it fixed my biggest complaint with the responsiveness of the 4r. Although the 4r is still a dog, the PC has reduced my desire to get a Magnuson SC for now

I did try to find some negative reviews on it, but couldn't find any significant ones like the one you stated. Were those the earlier models of the PC or Sprint Booster? Seems like if there was a major issue with the knockoffs, it would've been pointed out by now since they sell them for a ton of vehicles, but if it happens, I'll update this thread later on. I found this review on another forum where the OP had access to a Pedal Commander and the knockoff, they did not notice any change in performance between the two.

I wanted to ask another question, were you still driving when it crapped out? If so, did you have a sudden loss of power? A member above (VB.TRD.Pro) brought this issue up with the known brands, so I'm wondering what happened with your knockoff when it stopped working.

Some of the issues were recent. SB has been around since I can remember when the AMG forum guys were running them in the mid-2000s so these things aren't exactly new.
There is feedback in these two SB/PC threads about throwing codes which I haven't experienced. I haven't reread the entire threads but there's some good feedback in there.
Not sure if it is something with their car or failed units but it happens. If the name brand experience these issues, it wouldn't be unexpected for the knockoffs to do the same. Perhaps the knockoffs aren't as popular and thus no feedback posted. Either way let us know how the knockoffs work if you do give it a go.

I wonder if it's just an issue with newer vehicles due to all the electronics they have nowadays. Will definitely update later down the road.

I have the sprint booster and I like it.
Price isn't thr cheapest, but it does make it for a more responsive drive.
Just to be clear.. this is by no means a "performance " upgrade. Your sloth will be just as slow lol.
Its the same effect as mashing the throttle harder than you would in normal driving conditions. I keep mine on the standard mode #5 setting and I find it to be a good compromise. Anything more is too aggressive, less feels like factory. Turning jt off and on definitely makes for a big difference in feel.
Id imagine the cheap eBay ones will work just as well while they work. But as with many different type of Chinese electronic knock offs I've bought throughout the years I would be surprised if they lasted more than a year..

It's my second Chinese unit. When first one failed I had only min accel on full throttle so limp mode kinda. Second one i lost throttle entirely. Both units started to give
"Flat spots" during acceleration and then failed.

I hope you do but i have a feeling that all of those that have this particular look, brand is irrelevant, will fail.

Mine just came today, that was some pretty quick shipping from China. I only tested it out a bit, but man, it does "wake" up the 4Runner, Sport mode was way too aggressive, but didn't test it for long enough to tweak it, I ended up trying city mode, which was better...for city driving, but you can also feel the difference on that mode. The product does its purpose, which is increase the pedal sensitivity, as long as you understand that, you'll be content with this. It does the same thing as the known brands, so if you want another opinion on just the general idea of a throttle/pedal booster, those threads would help too.
Now I have to see how long it actually lasts.

Wanted to provide an update for others who want to try a cheaper pedal booster (possibly before committing to a known brand). My inexpensive aftermarket one from China is still working.
