FOX TRD Suspension on my 07 V6

Yo T4R! Found a set of 2020 4runner trd pro shock Fox 2.5's for a resonable price. Been doing some research and still haven't found any good resources / people doing this. I'm looking to keep my 4Runner ride setup low in terms of height but with improved ride quality. Makes sense that having the foxes with resi's the ride and performance on/off-road will improve like any aftermarket shock with resivoirs would. I'm thinking this setup with slight modification would probably give around 1" of lift with running an extended coil in the rear to level things out. Anyone have thoughts on this? What coils in the rear would you recommend? I've begun trimming (pinch welds, body mount chop, and fender trimming) and am attempting to fit 35's keeping the 4runner as low as possible. SPC uppers on the way to push my castor as far forward as possible as well. Would love to hear thoughts.

Cheers,
Chase

Not sure about it, but I think the coil bucket top hat is the same. The only thing that might bone you is the lower shock mount, but can't confirm that either way.

So the coils/ springs on a 5th gen give about a 1in lift to 4th gen and the trd has roughly another inch lift so you’re looking at maybe 2 inches. You’ll have to read through converting 4th gen to 5th gen struts, but yea you’ll need a bigger lower mount hole for the bushing and then you’ll only fit 5th gen struts from there on out

Better get out the big guns!

Can vouch though, Fox 2.5s with resis/DSC is a comfortable, solid suspension.

I believe you also have to grind down either the LCA bucket or the actual lower mount on the strut to squeeze it in there. I would look at some dobinsons rear springs. They have lots of different height options.

Good luck fitting 35's with minimal lift, but don't let me discourage you. You'll need a body lift and aggressive BMC as well as extended rear bump stops. Post results!

Yeah it looks like the top plate on the front struts in actually the same and there is some mods needed to change the lower mount or some people say you can get a different bushing pressed into TRD Fox's. Thatnks for the info on the ride height. I think I'm gonna go for it and see what happens. I'll document the setup in a updated thread once I'm all finished. Cheers dude!

I've got some Rough Country coils sitting in storage I might use for test fitting and then get some Dobinson's ordered once I've got it all mapped out.

You can fit 35's if you're willing to cut. I don't think ride height actually has anything to do with fitting bigger tires. Just maybe makes parts of the process a tad easier. Wish me luck! I'll update when it's all done.

Hi chase.

I’m pretty sure they will fit but you would need to potentially grind down the lower eyelet to fit in the LCA mount. Not a big deal
