STT PRO in rain have horrible side support. I had them for 3 years now and I loose rear end in turns when it's raining and i'm not pushing it hard around the corners. Other then that, it has good wear, ok in mud, first year in snow and ice was amazing, second year was tolerable. Now, i'm afraid that it wont be great in snow anymore, so I will have to be careful while stopping. I have put around 30k KM on them.

May be you need less air pressure and more sidewall?

More sidewall would mean more comfort. So 32" tire on a 17" rim would be less comfortable than 32" tire on a 15" rim. For maximum comfort you should get the smallest rim you could fit with the biggest tire you could fit.

As far as tire pressure goes -- chalk test is the only way to find the correct one.

i just switched over from KM3 (2 sets) to evolution. 290/70/17. The evolution are pretty much the same, but way 10 lbs less. i considered the STT pros, and yes they look amazing, but the extra weight and the noise from reviews scared me away.

i'm happy with the evolutions so far.
