Exclamation TPMS sensor - Will it stay or will it go?

Well it appears my sensor is craping out on me. All 5 tires are the correct pressure and the sensor light blinks for about a minute and then stays solid. I’m going to run it by the tire shop to verify.

I watched a video on the bypass so I’m thinking of doing the bypass. It seems easy enough - won’t ruin my manicure. But I wanted to check to see if anyone has had any issues with bypassing the TPMS sensor. I check my tire pressure and have my tires rotated every 5k. Also, this might be a dumb question, when I am due for a new set of tires, can I remove the bypass and have the TPMS installed again at that time? Or is the bypass permanent?

You can return it to original function. You’re basically creating a permanent circuit when splice wires together with the bypass. Prior to the bypass it’s more like a light switch that opens and closes the circuit to show its working or not working as the case may be.

To take it out you’ll just need to cut out the connection you made and splice the original wires back together.

It’s all pretty basic, straight forward wiring. The 03-05 and 06-09 (might be wrong the years) have different color wires so make sure you find a write up for your year
