Tire Inflator gun - free flow
Hey All
Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I am looking for a tire inflator gun BUT that is free flowing when the trigger is NOT depressed. Then when pressing the trigger, it stops the flow.
Is there such a thing? I've been googling around but can't find anything and/or don't know what terms to look for.
The reason I need the reverse operation is because I use a Viair 300p and you cannot use the traditional guns the stop flow, unless you turn on/off the compressor.
I want it to be free flowing but then I can momentary stop the flow so that the pressure gauge can read the tire pressure.

Wouldn't take more than a couple seconds to blow up that hose or even break that pump... Why not tie in a pressure switch? Or just mount it and plumb it to a tank and then do a switch...
As to your question, no such device exists, at least that I'm aware of and I've been wrenching for a while.

yeh i was thinking that. so actually, im building a hose with a T at the far end with a 50psi safety release valve. Then gonna use a regular inflator with trigger. That should work ok yeh?

Just use a pressure switch to shut off the compressor.

Would that go onto a T fitting and then wire the pressure switch inline with the + lead?
The viair 300p is a tankless compressor. Sorry if I'm not fully understanding.

You would want to tee it in at the discharge outlet of the pump, that way you don't have super long wires going to the switch, you would wire it in series to the on/off switch. The really high-end expensive compressors have this already built in
