When's the last time you bought a vehicle? :-) The last analog clock I saw was on my 1976 Olds Ninety-Eight. Every vehicle since then either had no clock or digital. I think the same can be said for my parents', siblings, in-laws, and friends' vehicles. Besides Infiniti and Jag, as previously mentioned, I can't think of any mfg who continued to regularly offer analog clocks as a kind of styling statement...maybe Porsche?

You're wearing polarized sunglasses. Tilting your head to the side a bit should let you see the clock. However, you started the thread by saying you wanted to see the time with the vehicle off...

Maybe the current crop of dashboard clocks aren't as well made as they used to be. I've used or seen a number of them over the years for my and other's econoboxes that had no clock at all. Obviously, YMMV. :-)

I've driven Mercedes for the past 20 years, and every Mercedes I've owned had an analog clock. Nearly every luxury car out there has an analog car. Sadly Mercedes has very poor reliability, but ride quality and materials used on those vehicles can't be rivaled. So, I decided to give that up for the 4R's reliability and ruggedness. One reason for wanting an analog clock is my use of prescription glasses, and analogs are usually much easier to see, if I tilt my head outside sunglasses to see anything, it becomes a big blurrrrrr;)

I tested the B+ along with the GRD by attaching wires directly to battery and clock worked just fine. Now, as far as the illumination pos/neg wires, I'd like clock's backlight to come on when headlights are turned on, and I'm not sure how to hook those up. My 4R has the daytime running lights, and if I attach them there, they'll be on when car is running, day and night. I'd rather have it on only when headlights are on. I can't seem to find wiring going into low headlight beam, which seems like the logical place to splice into. Any suggestions?

I was able to get the clock mounted in the same spot where hazard light switch sat, which I moved to the left side. It wasn't a problem since that space had a blank cover. So, both openings were resized and that's what it looks like now. I also spray painted the trim black to match climate control panel. Luckily, color of clock light matches existing lighting scheme.

It looks nice, the Infiniti logo would drive me nuts... I would have tried to see if at the very least Lexus had a similar set-up.

I don't know if ever needed to know the time that badly, also don't most of those vehicle mounted analog clocks need you to physically turn the vehicle on to update the time? I feel like if they didn't do that, you're just looking at an additional parasitic draw on your battery? (though I doubt the draw is barely half an amp on that thing...)
