Just so happens I know a guy who needs a V8...

I think I've decided V8 is the way to go for me. Would prefer '05 plus but not ruling out a clean 03/04.

If mpg isnt a problem, and you're towing go with the v8. I have a v6, an I like it a lot. But I dont have plans to tow and mpg is a big deal for me.

They both have terrible gas mileage, but that isn't why I bought it either.

Id get a V8 if you can, and if not, I wouldn't think twice about getting a V6.

I ended up getting a 2004 V6 Limited with 198000 miles for $4k. Overall I'm very happy with it, it was a turd when I got it but slowly coming back to life. Scored a nice set of Lexus wheels with new tires I'm going to plasti dip them probably this weekend along with some other mods.

I'm sure this has been mentioned at least somewhere in this thread but when I bought my 08 4Runner Sport V6 new I liked the fact that I could operate it in 2WD mode, whereas you didn't have that option on the V8 model. My own 4Runner has probably spent less than 5% of it's total 170k miles in 4WD as I primarily drive on the freeway, but of course use 4WD for winter driving when it is warranted.

Just seeing the difference of 1-3 mpg when I operate mine in 4WD mode was enough for me to justify the difference. I'd likely appreciate the torque of the V8 engine for sure, but overall my V6 has been a wonderful engine for 170k miles and counting.

Question

I removed my running boards on the 04 limited today. If I use the center wire connector that was connected to the runners and hook up these lights will it be OK? Does anyone know how much power they can take?

Also if anyone needs running boards you can have mine. I also have a new set of tires on stock Rims for sale for cheap, found a used set of lexus rims I dipped black and love the look of.
