Eric could have bought a new press, assembled the press and did the work in less time than he spend beating the piss out the bearing like he did.

Last week I ended up ordering the BECK/ARNLEY 0516470 with hub and seals from RA. I'll try pressing out the old bearing to see how doable it is, maybe get one prepped for the future.
As for getting it out, I've done it similar to ETCG multiple times on a GMC and too many to count on Jeeps.

I got mine from bluepit bearings before there were so many other options out there. He's not cheap at $239 per side but I've got 170,000 miles on these and they're still perfect. My OEM bearing was noisy at 65,000 miles

I just get 2 of the cheapest bearings/hub assemblies from Ebay. Since most vendors sell fake bearings anyways, it is unlikely that people are actually getting a Koyo bearing and not a fake chinese ripoff part. I also have a complete assembly with me in the truck and can swap it out if it breaks.

No trouble with the one he replaced. The other three are still maintenance-free and 15 years old.
It's usually the front ones that go. I keep a new "spare" assembly WB in my garage for the next one that
fails.
I've never replaced any of the Ujoints on the driveshaft and they still are hanging in there. At the first noise, I get them fixed as you don't want the DS flying off and breaking
BTW U-joints (3 of them) would have to be done by a good mechanic with a lift. They are on there like "solid". Mine are OEM. Can't beat that after 15 years. I've had failures of U-joints on a GMC Jimmy and it isn't pretty. Make sure they are lined up as straight as possible. Any wobble and they will fail.

Avoid Marionb2B altogether. Just... avoid. He’s the worst.

Put in an order a couple of weeks ago from the Jersey Built Hubs guy. Waiting on shipping, but will report back once I get it and get it installed.

It's not really a "catastrophic failure" item so you might be carrying around 40lbs for no reason. To each his own though

The Beck/Arnley assembly came in on the weekend. Hopefully I can get to it this week. Nothing stamped on the bearing itself so I assume Chinese.

Installed the JBH Hub last week. Really pretty easy to do. So far, so good.

I started taking mine apart on Saturday then quickly realized the dust shield was basically gone. I put it back together and placed an order for new shields. If I'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it properly. Odd there's no aftermarket option for these.

Nope, I found that out as well because the one on my driver’s side is in bad shape. Passenger had been replaced before I bought it. I’ve had the new shield hanging in my garage waiting for whenever I do my front bearings. Not sure if they still have them, but a year or 2 ago NAPA listed Koyo brand bearings for a fairly reasonable price (~$75 per bearing) without hubs. Since I have a press and all the tooling, I plan to do as you originally mentioned and just get new bearings, and seals, but reuse my own hubs. Just haven’t had time to do them as there have been bigger priorities.
