4th gen 4Runner Secrets?

I don't know if there are any threads on this, i did a search but didn't come up with much. I know sometimes there are little features that can be helpful but aren't always aparent, and the manufacturer doesn't go out of their way explaining them. Like for example, in the Lexus GS if you hold the key in the driver door in the unlock position for 2 seconds it rolls down all the windows. That's just an example of one. Are there any little secrets like that for the 4R's, especially 4th gen? Thanks.

If you hold down the bottom button on the remote it rolls down the back window; try that on a GS

Talking

Everyone may already know this one, but if you have the JBL system in your 4Runner you can turn it on and off by pressing and holding the mode button on the steering wheel. It's the little things, right?

Also if you hold (forward/back) the station button on the steering wheel, you will hear a beep and the system will seek the next station (not the presets).

On the nav, if you press the map button as you are driving it will display the current street address number. This is very helpful when looking for house address number, especially at night.

My favorite is hitting the lock button a second time on your key fob if you realize that you've left your lights on as you walk away from the car. Lights out!

It does that on the standard single disc system too.

I like the no hold starter feature where you just turn the key and the starter cranks automatically untill the engine starts.

Yes, I loved that. Now when I drive new cars lacking that feature, it's very dissapointing actually! It never seems like a big deal until you get used to it.

My secret, 4Hi with the center diff locked on snowy roads and parking lots will produce VERY fast donuts and drifts, while throwing LOTS of roost at WFO

Just make sure it's good and slippery, or it's hard on the driveline.

Yea... I don't think anyone else is that advance. I know Ford isn't... cause I never seem to start them on the 1st start anymore...

Or, If you have any electronic devices not working properly and need a reset or the stereo needs to be reset, you can "crank" the key again without hurting the starter. That is a very useful feature

I read on another site that you can change the volume of he beep when you lock the door by holding the unlock button down on the key fob then hitting the lock and window buttons to adjust the volume through 5 different levels, is that true? can anyone confirm this?

You can program your doors to lock either when shifting out of park or going over 13mph and you can program your doors to unlock when you shift into park or open the drivers door.
