True North Fabrication Hybrid Bumper

Has anyone tried the True North Fabrication Hybrid bumper? Looks great, seems to be lighter weight, and is on sale right now for 900 shipped with black Friday pricing, which seems like a steal.

I know this is an older post but I ordered their plate bumper DIY kit. I've heard good things about them as they got their start here in the Twin Cities.

Did you buy the recovery point and bumper tie-in? I saw on FB that he recommends them before you do any winching with it.

I've had my eye on their bumpers for a little bit now. Looking forward to seeing how these turn out.

Any updates on the bumper? Curious about these tabs and how much easier they would make it to weld together. The idea of building it off the truck + the hybrid look make me interested in it. Looks like a good kit.

I've had it for a couple of months, though I did the welded instead of the weld together. I don't own any welding equipment and decided this wasn't the project to start on.

The good is that the fit and finish is superb. No gaps, etc. Really good in that respect. The winch space is tight, but fits well, and the weight on it is very reasonable. Also, mounting LED pods in the wings works really well for aux lighting.

My only real complaint is the lack of recovery points. Just seems crazy that it doesn't have any front loops or whatever.

If you want something lightweight, in my mind this is the way to go.

True North bumper

Hi, I just ordered a bumper from True North this week. I bought the diy weld kit. Just wondering if you ever added the recovery point/tie-in’s they recommend for winching?

Haven't looked at their front bumper but their rear bumper looks nice!

I would buy those if you plan on winching. I use them on my mine but had to modify my bumper since its not a Ture North product. But I feel better about having the bumper tied in with the frame in case I ever need to do some hard winching.

How do their front recovery points fit? Any idea if they might fit if you had a ARB Bumper? I bought a set of BBg4x4 front recovery points but the true north look a lot better.

I contacted true north about their recovery points fitting with an ARB bumper, but haven’t heard back from them yet.

These are the pics I have of my TNF recovery points. If the ARB uses any of these holes, then I'd say its iffy. Although the rear holes are slotted perpendicular to the frame, so they may be able to sit on top of bracket utilizing these points

holy shit thank you for this bro. I've been trying to figure out how this shit goes on. I even emailed/DM'd SRQ and got no response. Can I install without taking the front bumper off?

*Edit

Wow I just realized they sent 2 of the same side. From the pic it looks like they sent me 2 driver side recovery points. Of course this shit would happen haha

I still have the stock plastic bumper, so I didn't need to remove anything. If you have one that attaches down there, may have to remove. The pics on their site do suck, so glad this could be helpful

and man thats a bummer, but at least you figured out why they wouldn't go on! You can also DM Matthew Berman on FB (look for the one that says in the little BIO about SRQ or True North), hes the owner of SRQ/True North

Okay cool I currently have the stock front bumper as well. Thank you again for the tip. I messaged Matthew as well.

I realized this morning I have 2x passenger recovery points and I'll need a driver side.
