My 4Runner is on Copart. Lots of goodies on it

My 4Runner was totaled just before Halloween. After considering all my options, I’m no longer in the 4Runner fam. I didn’t want to deal with parting it out, so it is now on Copart.

You don’t want any body panels or the frame. The paint and panels were bad before the wreck.

Premium DT long tube header
Titanium exhaust manifold studs
Magnaflow Catted y-pipe
Custom Gibson exhaust
New leather seating with new driver foam
Just rebuilt the rear axle with a 3.90 limited slip
Transmission is great - verified good when I found out the diff was bad.
Engine should still be ok.
Suspension OME/Dobinson’s is still good.
Resz Fab rear upper control arms are still on the car. I took off the rear lowers before State Farm got it.
FN F(x) Pro wheels.

That looks like a pretty hard hit to not have popped the airbags

Hope every one was okay...looks like it took the hit well.
From the name I thought CoPart parted out cars for you. I have no storage for a parts car but DAMN those seats are NICE!
Where did you have them done?
Thanks in advance!

I bought them off leatherseats.com and installed them myself. It takes about 24 hours per car. I did my wife’s outback and my 4Runner. They each took the same amount of time. I added heated seats to mine, and with both cars, it was like $1700 total. It’s a fantastic deal.

Yeah everyone at the scene was puzzled. I managed to stop my car, but the other driver never saw, so I was hit at about 40mph I the front passenger corner.

Granted, everyone got out of their own car and didn’t require medical attention, so I guess airbags weren’t needed? Nobody even had cuts, just bruises.

That was quite a wreck - glad you're okay. Where your truck sits now is minutes from where I work. I would have been over there with my tools the day after I saw this post if it was a pull-a-part type thing rather than having to buy the whole vehicle.

I am also glad you are ok. Looks like it protected you well!

Did the insurance company give you a fair settlement?

I walked away with $13500 after deductible, etc. about $3000 more than I paid for it 5 years ago. I did provide a decent list of upgrades. (I didn’t bring up the headers, since they aren’t road legal.)

State Farm doesn’t care about maintenance replacements/repairs, but upgrades will increase the value. In the 2 vehicles I’ve had totaled in my life, it seems like you get roughly whatever additional salvage value your upgrades would bring, which is usually 1/4-1/3 of the new part price.

Dude those seats look cool! I'm sorry you totaled your rig, but I'm glad I found that link. My kids have done a number on my OEM cloth seats and my driver's seat is wearing in the usual places. I'm seriously considering the leather vs. having the interior shampooed. Do you remember the colors you used? I have the tan interior as well.

Checked my invoice. I used “Puddy” as the tan color. It’s a really good match to the tan plastic on the lower section of the front seats. There are a variety of tans inside the 4Runner cabin, but I felt like that was the best choice. They’ll gladly send you a huge batch of colors. I cannot recommend those guys enough.

After doing 2 vehicles personally, don’t bother with hog rings. Get zip ties. Your driver’s seat foam can swap sides to the passenger’s side. I opted for brand new foam, which was like $300 from Conicelli Toyota online. I’d also personally opt for full leather for the front seats (or full vinyl if you want a budget option). Every bit of noticeable wear that occurred in the 7000 miles I had them was on the vinyl side section. It wasn’t bad at all, but I could tell it would age differently than the leather facings.

The rear center console thing is a pain to put back together, but it’s mesmerizing to watch the mechanism work. If it doesn’t go back together right, it’ll also have trouble staying closed.
