Looks like I ran out of picture-posting ability through tapatalk on the phone lol, so had to resort back to uploading from the computer.
Very pleased with how everything came out in the end with the swing out. The heim pivot worked like a dream, I wish I had done this from the first time around, but live and learn I guess. There is practically no sag at all with the latch released and it pivots smooth as butter without needing lubrication.
I am still going to do a small drop of a bike-chain type dry lube just to help out a bit but overall it is working great. Plus now the entire pivot assembly is sitting on 3/16" angles instead of a 1/4" flat plate that wanted to deform under weight with it swung out.
I took the time to hand the hi-lift jack a bit higher so that it wasn't in the way of the latch as well. And finally, I placed a secondary locking drop-pin just to ensure the assembly doesn't swing out while driving in the very unlikely situation of the latch failing in the closed position.
Since I cut it all up again and had to paint it I decided to use the same bed liner paint that i used on the sliders and I couldn't be happier. Looks much nicer now. The license plate covers the not-so-pretty modification to receive the heim pivot so overall I stoked with how it came out.
A question came up about departure angle, and yes, obviously you can't have your cake and eat it too if you're looking for a bolt-on swing out carrier and not a full bumper. I could gain a bit more clearance if I chop off 4-5 inches of the receiver tube on the swing out, but I want it for the ability to hook up a small trailer while still having the swing out on. Sooner or later I'll be going with the coastal offroad swing out bumper so that won't be an issue for long
