Stock tires on 4.88 gears

Sup fellow money haters!

My 35s are beginning to show their age after a few years of mixed road/trail use. I'm looking into replacements but I'd like to get some road tires to swap out. I realize it'll look absolutely ridiculous with road tires and giant fiberglass fenders but I get 9mpg right now so if I could get some of that back that's totally worth it. I have a couple 3000 mile road trips coming up soon.

I have 4.88 gears, has anybody run small tires with this ratio? 2003 v8 (no rust gang what's up?)

I'm thinking the stock 31.5s might be too small for that ratio on the interstate maybe some 33 inch pizza cutters on stock wheels?

I still have my stock wheels.

If you post metric sizes be a bro and translate it to freedom units.

Thanks! Enjoy sinking your money into the endless pit that is modifying a 4x4. I sure have

Also I should mention I know that bigger tires are better for fuel economy, but at a certain point the increased rolling weight has to outweigh gear ratio, right?

Are there any really lightweight 35" road tires out there? I could probably run 37 x 10 but they're so heavy...

I would compromise in the middle and run 33's. You can find 33's pretty light compared to 35's and less issues with your gear ratio. Also AT's are usually lighter than MT's.
