Gray trim vs matte black bumper/sliders

I will be adding bumpers soon and don't want to be stuck with gray trim and matte black sliders/bumpers. That will look jacked up.

I also don't want to plasti-dip the existing gray trim to black. Not a fan of white/black.

Was considering powder-coating the bumpers and sliders gray to match the gray trim. That way, there's a bit of contrast with the grays, but not full black going on.

Am I on the right track? Anyone have gray side trim and dealt with this? Appreciate your input!

Don't powder coat, you will regret it when it gets scratched up and chipped off road. Find a grey paint you like and do that.

Black goes with anything and is what I would personally do anyhow.

I have a blue 2003 with gray trim. I think ARB makes a gray bumper for it. What wheels did you go with?

I've already primed and painted the rock sliders matte black, and unfortunately, my past crawling has already resulted in chipped paint. Not sure if one can avoid that. I've considered doing matte black bumpers, but then I'm stuck with black bumpers and sliders and gray side trim. In my (admittedly Type A) mind, it looks gingerbread to me. FWIW

I like your thoughts on the gray all-around. Thanks for the input, bro.

I had a Toytec BOSS 3/2 lift with Bilstein 5100s installed in '14 and it hasn't given me any grief to date. The CV angle is even good. I like the look.

At least with your blue paint, the contrast isn't as nuts as my white paint. Did you paint any aftermarket stuff? If so, did you stick with gray paint all around?

I bought the 5 Ultra Motorsports wheels and BFG KO2's from Tire Rack (together.) Tire Rack shipped them with a free mount and balance, so that was great, plus 6 months same as cash. Good deal overall. The wheels look great, although now that you mention it, I need to bust out the black touch-up paint.

We have a limited that has/had the silver accent bits (factory running boards, roof rails, f/r valance) and figured I wanted to do soemthing different, so just went with Rustoleum in silver. Probably going to do the same if/when I do an aftermarket roof rack and bumpers (leaning towards just bare or cleared aluminum, too) just to keep it a bit different.
