Dumb question - side marker lights help

Hi Guys

Ive been having some issues with my lights - front and tail. Ive looked at all the bulbs and connections on my driver side and I think things are working for now.

When does the front sidemarker light turn on?

So in the head light assembly there are 4 bulbs - the headlights, high beams, the turn signal/ day light run light and then you have a lower sidemarker light.

I cant get my sidemarker lights on - maybe theyre both blown or I dont understand them. going through turning car on, hazard lights, turning, pressing brake does nothing

In what circumstances do the lower sidemarker lights turn on? Thanks for helping me out

If you're working with the same headlights I have in my '04 (meaning before the facelift 06-09)....

The front side markers (red arrow, first pic) come on with the parking lights on. (second click forward on your light selector).
These parking lights will also be lit up when you have your actual headlights on. (third click forward on light selector).

The front DRL lights (blue arrow, second pic) come on with the engine on AND the parking brake off. They turn off when your full headlights come on.

Let me know if this sheds some "light" for ya.

Thanks for that answer

Unfortunately I have an 08 now so different assembly. It seems the turn signal and dlr are one in the same in these

06-09. Can we go over what the problem is again? If turn signals and DLR lights are not working , it is the harness. easy to replace.

My DLR and turn signals work. The bulb below this doesnt turn on no matter what I do. (IE not the fog light - the 4th bulb in the head light assembly) My question is when is this supposed to turn on.

The 06-09 headlights typically have the signal markers/DRL(blinkers) on when your normal headlights are off/car is running. Once you flip the dial once to parking, the signal markers stay on and the smaller orange ones (lower corner) also illuminate. Rotating the switch once more activates your normal headlights which turns off the larger side markers/blinkers and the smaller ones stay on.

So the smaller DRLs in question should come on with both the first & second settings of light switch
