Brake upgrade recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for upgrading the brakes on 2006 4Runner V8 4wd I have a lift plus 34’s and do some rowing throughout the year
My brakes have started to pulsate and I would rather just upgrade the whole set and avoid seizes calipers and warped rotors in the future. Any suggestions for what brand to go with would be very helpful

Personally I'm about to get Brembo blank rotors and Hawk LTS pads. As far as calipers seizing, unfortunately I don't think there's a magic fix yet. Going with OEM and flushing fluid regularly seems to be the best bet.

I've cycled mine periodically, but I'm pretty sure I have one at least partially seized at the moment.

I put on Stop Tech rotors, the 338mm in front and went with NAPA calipers, changed fronts to the ones for 338mm rotors and used Posi-Quiet pads and Toyota brake fluid. I don't tow but these have been good. And good idea to flush the bake fluid every spring, at least pump a container of new fluid in, bleed each caliper about the same. Also installed Stop Tech SS lines.

I just replaced my rear calipers last weekend with Cardone Ultra series at rockauto.com. They come with a 10 year warranty which should take care of the seizing problem. They were $80 shipped for a pair of coated calipers.

I think the fronts will be $130 shipped for the pair

Stoptech Sport slotted rotors. Haven't had a problem with them warping or anything on 37" tires.

I've had the PowerStop Z36 kit on my '07 Sport for several years and highly recommend it, and RockAuto has it 10% off through the end of December 2020.

Blue sold me in these as well. They've only been on about a month and 1500 miles but they're great. I tow a small trailer now and again and they're great. Would highly recommend.

If you're rich you can get 6 piston Rotoras. $$$$

Otherwise the above options are all good.

Is this the kit that came with new calipers? I've been eyeing the FULL brake kit from Stoptech for awhile but haven't heard much about their calipers on our trucks

No, the set I got was pads and rotors only, which of course bit me in the a** later. The PowerStop pads lasted 43K miles and when I went to replace them, turned out one of my front calipers was stuck. Didn't have much choice with the truck on stands and having to work the next morning so I replaced both front calipers with Autozone parts. Worked out okay since they have a pretty good warranty.

BTW, the rotors still looked pristine when I changed the pads at 43K miles so I called PowerStop and asked whether it was necessary to resurface or replace them. They said no, as long as they looked good and had been properly bedded in when installed, which they had. That was a while ago and everything's still good.

I purchased the full kit off carid.com.

4 calipers
4 rotors(drilled and slotted)
8 pads
all the hardware you need.

Everything looks great, as I'm in the rust belt it's also a plus that the calipers are painted. I haven't had it long but they were great so far. For the price of the kit, you can't beat it.
