Question What is this, Is it a just a Cross Brace support BAR.?

Hello Folks
Wonder what this(circled) small cross tube bar do, Is it just a cross support brace. Its rusting out, Should it really be replaced.?

Apparently those exist to protect the catalytic converters, that and/or maybe to add some rigidity.

In any case they aren't important, I haven't had mine on for years because of my aftermarket skid plates.

I think they just add rigidity. When I installed my skid plates I had to remove them for good.
