Seat Cover Recommendations

I'd really appreciate your recommendations for quality seat covers that custom fit 4th Gen Limited seating, front and back (3rd row not needed). Outfits that provide matching headrest, center console lid, and rear arm-rest covers (with front slot for extending cupholder on the latter) desired. Saddle-cloth desired, but will consider other materials and looks (good hunting camo pattern always a welcome possibility).

Background and fair warning:

Back at the beginning of December I ordered custom seat covers online from a company called Seat Covers Unlimited in Mesa, AZ. The online ordering was very well organized, straightforward, and easy, with attractive choices and purportedly custom fitting available for our rigs. Unlike me, my '08 seats are in great shape for their age and, since I have dogs and play hard, I wanted to keep 'em that way. So I ponied up for front and back seats with saddlecloth to cover it all - the woiks! Their turn-around time was estimated at early to mid-January. But, hell, with our end-times then seemingly nigh, I figured I'd be happy enough to get 'em by March. Good deal.

Hadn't heard anything and called 'em today. Apparently, "when you make a comment on our website regarding your order" (I'd added the information about rear arm-rest with cupholder) "our online system somehow drops your order and we don't receive it." And yet I had an order number and detailed work order printed out, from an e-mail I received directly from their company immediately after the order was placed. In the Scooby Doo-like expression of Tim-The-Toolman-Taylor that's used with confounding idjits... HUHHHHH???

Needless to say, my seat covers hadn't been started. "But hey!" - (the undoubtedly blonde gal with big, uh, personalities on the Arizona end of the line says) - "The material you ordered wasn't all that good anyway. (Here it comes.) How about upgrading to..."

I killed that order deader than the final months of my marriage.

Any suggestions - other than therapy?

If go with wet okole - that’s what I’ve been researching and probably go with. They e got some custom Toyota emblems they can do too - I guess if you have to ask bc they may not be posted on their website

Thanks for the link to more saddleblanket, DrC. I'm partial to it because of Grandpa's and Dad's old seat covers and sure would like it in this rig.

No saddlecloth or camo but I’ve been really happy with my Clazzio leather seat covers. Look very nice and if you didn’t know you’re think they were leather. If you’re doing it anyways, might as well add the seat heater pads while you’re at it since the seats will be out. Clazzio Seat Covers - #1 Trusted Site - Customizable Leather Seat Covers

those covers look very nice. are they just "slip on" style covers like wet okole or other brands or are they replacement covers where you replace the entire factory covers?

Those are good lookin', well fittin', durably thick seat covers, C. Real nice. Thanks for the link.

I have OEM front seat heaters, but they're admittedly weak compared to my F-150. Been thinkin' that might be a replacement down the line - after suspension, tires, exhaust, Victory Blitz bumper, winch, rear bumper with swingouts, roof rack...

Thanks for the recommendations, fellas. Wound up goin' with CoverKing's tan Saddle Cloth. Not as durable as other materials, but I like it for impractical reasons. A couple o' things to note for others lookin' for seat covers with storage options:

1. CoverKing has these cool molle-backed, tactical-style seat covers that allow easily accessible storage. Was really tempted by 'em:

Tactical Seat Covers - Skanda Camo & Tactical - Seats

2. Hinmo's above Carharrt recommendation led me to these add-on, universal seat-back, molle & pouch storage options on Amazon:

Amazon.com: Carhartt Universal Seat Organizer, Carhartt Brown: Sports & Outdoors

Got the best o' both worlds! Thanks!

@firebirdguy they are slip ons over the factory covers. They also have an extra layer of padding for extra comfort. You do need to take your seats out as they are pretty tight and to do the job right.

@Wild Thing the seat heaters after you’ve been sitting on them after warmed up on high temped at approx. 115*-120* so they definitely get pretty dang hot. Very impressed with them. They certainly don’t stay on high for very long.

Did you do the work yourself? WOW - better looking than some upholstery shop work I've seen.

I lucked out and they were on the 4Runner when I bought it in Dec 2019. Doing the seat heater install though I did remove both seats and had the seat covers off (mostly) to put the heated pads in.

I’m glad it did because I’m not sure I could have imagined paying this much for seat covers, but seeing them in person definitely makes me change my mind for sure. Most who see my vehicle mention my leather seats. They are blown away when I tell them they’re just covers. When I went to look at the vehicle I was confused because he said he had seat covers lol and I actually asked him I they were leather seats.

You lucked out it appears as they don't make the covers for the back seats anymore, I was ready to pull the trigger!

You positive on that? I just ran through the configurator and it is saying not for 3rd row models. It asks whether the front seat are manual or powered and states 2 rows. If you’re serious I’d double check and contact them. Can’t imagine them stopping production on just the rear.

Also if you use promo code clazzio10 you get 10% off your order.
