Suspension Guidance!

Hey Everyone,

So I've done my fair share of reading and research, but really I just want some opinions and guidance from people that have done what I am wanting to do.

Alright, I have on 04 SR5 Runner and the suspension components are complete garbage. The truck is originally from the NE, so I'm assuming the harsh weather has destroyed the bushings and overall ride.

I've replaced the shocks with 5100 all around and toytec springs in the front and rear. That has helped a bit, but my steering and ride is still extremely squirrley. If I hit a minor or major bump, the truck hops around and is extremely unstable. If there's any major divot in the road, the truck pulls that way.

What I am asking, is if anyone has had these issues and if so, what have you replaced that seems to work? If I were to rebuild/replace suspension parts, what would you recommend?

I want to replace business where needed, but also upgrade suspension parts that would be deemed worth and worth it down the road. All suggestions and recommendations are welcome! Thanks everyone!

I currently run 5100+ Dobinsons 2.5" Up front and it bounces like you are talking about, I have honestly put this down to the bilstein coils just being stiff from my experience and otehrs as well. Ive replaced UCA, sway links, sway bar mounting bushings, but i think its just the nature of the shocks. Going to replace to my dobinsons struts & new LCA with new bushings/ ball joints as well

What setting do you have the 5100s and what toytec springs do you have?

When I originally bought the truck a few years back the shocks were completely shot and I still had the bouncing over bumps, but I feel, now that I think about it, it has definitely gotten worse. I'm just trying to make the truck feel more "planted". I understand with aftermarket suspension components the ride will never feel like stock, but I just can't be satisfied with the way the truck responds right now.

I have them set at the second to highest notch. With ToyTec Front Coil Springs (620lb) and the ToyTec Superflex Rear Coils. Truck definitely responds and I am ok with the ride quality, but hitting bumps with speed and getting pulled around the road is definitely something I want to track down and correct.
