Nice Rack

Nicely done. Do-it-yourself projects are always the most rewarding. I'm hoping my Black Friday SSO rack will ship the week.

Yeah I just used some 1/4" aluminum that i got from Gainger. Two pieces that were 3" tall and 6' long. Then the two front pieces were cut from one piece that was 8" tall and 3' long. Used a $30 angle grinder for all of the cutting and a grinding wheel to make the radius.

Thankfully I have access to a large press at work and a guy that was able to make it work. In the end they were bent at like 85 degree angle. I don't really have any pictures of that but might be able to get some?

Thankfully I have a work truck so I was able to take my time with this one. Start to finish it took about 2 months. That did include changing a few things and a few orders from TNutz.

See below for my order. Figured that would be easier than trying to explain it

Exactly what i needed. Any reason you chose some 1x1 and 1x2? Do you have a picture from above? Thank you

I switched up the sizes mainly to cut down on weight. The supports are strong enough where I really could have just used the 1x1s for the whole thing probably. I also put a 1x2 vertically right behind the sunroof to try to make more of a "basket" to keep things away from the sunroof. Also the one in the very back is vertical too. These are the best above pics I have while I was making it. Not sure why one is getting flipped. I can take some better ones later if you need me to?

Awesome write up and awesome end product. Curious, what were the dimensions for the front wind deflector? Again, thanks for all the details. I have already started adding all the parts you detailed to my shopping lists
