Help needed!! Urgent

So I recently disconnected my battery on both terminals to do some engine work. When I reconnected everything, I completely lost all electronic controls. All door locking functions, rear hatch window, and the AC

The only functions that still work are my power windows front and back, and the door locking but ONLY when the key is turned

I have done this countless times before and never had an issue. I tried resetting the ECU multiple times to no avail. The only thing I can think of that I did wrong was reconnecting the battery terminals negative first. (I guess there is a proper way?)

PLEASE help me if you have an idea. I guess my next option is taking it to Toyota but I don’t want them to rape me for a service that could very well be simple. Has anyone run into any of this. 06 and everything is electronic these days

Are you sure you didn't cross the wires? There is a main fuse to protect the entire system if you do that although I thought it took out all electrical functions but it's where I would start my hunt. There is a proper order to reconnect battery terminals but it's for safety versus damage to the system.

Hey man, not totally sure your situation, but I have an idea you could try. I would disconnect the negative terminal for a couple mins, then reconnect it. Go into the cabin and put the key in either accessory mode or engine on. Then roll down the sunroof (if you have it), front, rear, and back window all the way down and all the way back up. I've had the door locks malfunction one time before after disconnecting the battery where the rear hatch wouldn't open until I ran through the procedure I stated above. One more thing to check would to be sure that all 4 door locks are in the same phase (either all unlocked, or all unlocked). I've had trouble with that before as well. Hope this helps, and let me know if this works or not!

I am pretty sure that I did not cross the wires. I would have noticed the huge spark. If I did blow a fuse, I’m not sure which it could be. I checked the ECU and it was intact. I could go down the line, but I’m not sure which it could be if any. It’s like the computer needs to reset, or wasn’t able to reset properly

Check the big fuses under the hood. Also make sure the short ground strap from the negative cable is still good going to the inner fender and of course make sure the terminal mating surfaces are clean.

Stupid possibility but maybe the battery is finally toast. Mine was causing all sorta dash glitches for a week until I finally replaced it.
