Thank you !

The red car is my first obsession that I've owned for 17 years now.. my 1995 toyota supra that started as a non turbo 5 speed car and is now, after many..many changes a turbo 6 speed that has been neglected for the last year while I was building t4r.

Wow what a beauty! I love those cars...I couldn't afford them back 10yrs ago and sure af can't afford them now. I drove a buddy's RHD around 8-10yrs ago before/after his front mount intercooler swap and omg the difference was unreal.

I feel like I am SOO close to getting this round of modifications complete.

Yesterday I was able to run the initial wiring setup for the front pods and start tucking it away. The winch is fully mounted but I still need to come up with some sort of a basic bracket to hold the control unit that I had to take off from the top of it and is sitting right beside. From there I will also look at building a push-off bracket to support/push forward the bottom side of the grill so that it isn't sunken downward like it is right now.

Other than that, I think all the major stuff is done.. below is the list of things I need to get done in the next 3 weeks ahead of our 2 night camping/offroading trip in april:
-finish mounting the winch control box
-make custom fender liners (material just arrived yesterday but I am NOT looking forward to making more templates and mounting points so it will wait..)
-Receive and install my own custom roof rack... and hope like hell it works since I have no other way to mount my RTT
-replace my custom cut steel spacers with the aluminum spacers under the fenders and lights
-fabricate, paint and install the swingouts. At the minimum I need the spare tire swing out complete but should hopefully only take 1 full day of fabrication to finish.

Decided since the rear bumper face is so large and flat that I will relocate my license plate down to it as well as install 2 white, flush mount reverse light pods.

Got to marking and cutting the rear bumper to install them, figured 1 hour start to finish with wiring straight up to the reverse lights, and as soon as I made it through the first hole I realized my blunder... the factory rear crash bar is literally right behind where I want to install these . doh! Since the rear bumper is pretty damn structural in itself, I decided that today I will pull it off and notch out 2 small sections to recess the lights in. At this point I am done pretending to know how long something will/should take as another 1 hour project will turn into a 3 hour project

Good thing is that I needed to pull the rear off anyway in order to spray the inside as its still bare metal. I guess at least I'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The fun part will be doing this by myself on an inclined driveway, but I have a plan

While paying some bills this morning, I decided to get a rough estimate for my build for anyone curious.

My initial wrecked rebuild to a perfectly fixed, driving, factory 4runner ran me around $7800. This was for a 2003 4wd limited with 131k miles on it. Not too shabby at all!

This sub $10k build quickly escalated to a grand total of somewhere around $22.5-$24k over the last 9 months. Hard to believe, but at the same time not really considering I still see low 100k mile 4runners selling in the 14-17k range, but I am fully locked front and rear, 35" tires, RCV axles, full bumpers front and rear, 2015 taco swap, etc.

Definitely a wish-list item for next off season....

I haven't made up my mind 100% but am leaning towards the ICON stage 7 tubular kit for when I need big-boy shocks to go in... has everything I will ever need for a long time... this along with some beefier rear axles and for my purposes, should hopefully he a bulletproof setup.

Today was a crappy weather day so not much progress, but I did finish mounting the rear bumper with all the hardware, and relocated the license plate down ahead of the swing out fabrication. I have some lights coming for it soon amd should be good to go. I think it filled out the otherwise a largely flat and boring rear section of the bumper nicely.

Also put a finishing touch on the front bu per with a mesh grill behind the 2 central cutouts.

Oh, and the first part of the roof rack showed up. Got the crossbars delivered today and spent a bit of time tapping 40+ 1/4-20 holes for the screws. Cant wait to get the rest of it !

Haha, thanks bud! I was thinking they were Rigid Industries pods, but couldn't quite make it out. Nice work and hope they do last!
