Fist noticed this noise 02/21/2021. The video below was filmed 02/23/2021. The sound seems to be coming from the right valve cover nearest to the radiator. I have not noticed the noise at cold start or during driving. To far away from driving position and to much other wind noise. I have only noticed it at idle after a drive. No DTC showing. I have not done any other testing or diag. This weekend I plan on removing the timing chain tensioner inspection plate, possibly a compression test, leak down test and putting a video scope down the spark plug holes to see if there is any “piston slap” on the cylinder walls. Also doing a oil change to inspect the oil and filter as well as sending a sample off to Blackstone for analysis. I do not believe it is “piston slap” because I do not notice any oil consumption or excessive smoke from the exhaust and stated as above I do not notice it at cold start.
The strange thing is I am still seeing good MPGs, I do not feel any stutter or rough idle. No milky look to the oil and no signs of oil in the coolant.
