XREAS Leaking again... Time to go another direction.

Hello all,

I replaced my XREAS system 3 years ago the warranty ran out and I have one that just started to leak. I have read all the posts and have heard really good ideas.

I have an 07 V8 sports edition. I'm looking for a shop in central Florida (Lakeland area) that will take care of me with no nonsense. I got an estimate of about 1,400 with whatever stock shocks and struts they have. I'm starting a new job and money is tight but I can't let this go too long without damaging the tires. I could use some good ideas if you know any shops or equipment that is great for a minimal price point. I don't need to lift it. I just need to replace the XREAS with something reliable and affordable.

Thanks for checking out my thread and any advice would be most appreciated.

of course, some (most from my experience) shops won't do any work without them supplying the parts. Billies are good, quality, but apparently are a little on the firm side. KYBs seem to be the right fit.

Thanks for the input. I was looking at the KYB. Lot of good comment/experiences with them on here. I agree a few shops around here won't use used parts at all and some won't even use the new parts. They want to upcharge me for buying from them.

Let me know if you find a good solution. I need to replace mine too. I am in Ft Myers and need a suggestion on a reliable shop in our area (SW FLA). I want to get it done before I head to Boston first week in April.
Many member have commented that you can get Bilsteins.........they sold out
Thanks

That’s when you find a shop that will do the install and not force you to over pay for parts. I don’t remember which part but I think @4RunnerAquasport is in FL and may have a recommendation.

I will keep everyone posted on the where, when, and how I get it done. If it will help anyone here I'm glad to because this forum has helped my through problems for both the $runners I've owned.

When I scrapped the Xreas system on my '04 4runner V8 I went with Monroe shocks in the rear & Monroe Quick struts in front. Cost less than $300 complete and the rides not bad but I don't take it off roading.
