DashCam Power Source

Just picked up a dash camera, and instead of wiring the cord up/around the windshield and back down to the cig lighter, looking for a power source closer. Anyone use the map reading lights or sunroof power?

If you have a powered rear mirror (autodim/compass) I think there's a adapter that gives you a usb port that runs around 25 it 30 bucks....but you should be able to tap into that without it

You are all heros! My wife just picked up a webcam from Amazon and I was thinking, "Well $#!* there goes my weekend of fishing stuff around and installing some random @$$ USB power somewhere."

Now to figure out how to run the USB for the rear camera. Ideas anyone? Is this a 1 or 6 beer job?
