2005: Current HIR options for low beam (9006) & high beam (9005)?

I'm looking to replace the stock headlight bulbs on my new-to-me 2005 4runner. From my research, looks like the easiest upgrade is just swap to them out with HIR 9011 and 9012 bulbs. I can't stomach the HID/projector/whatever else options yet.

I'm trying to follow this old thread: High Intensity Infrared (HIR) bulb install
  • has great instructions for modifying the housing to fit

Unfortunately, candlepower.com changed ownership, and the new owner died (yikes ). So, need to look elsewhere.

I came across these Phillips options on Amazon:
Would these work? They look like they should. Anyone have any direct experience with these? Or are there other/better options?

HIR bulbs are great, even though they are not popular. I haven't seen a thread on them in years. Almost got them when I had my 97 Grand Cherokee. HIDs/LED will blind oncoming traffic, even though you can get them cheap nowadays. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm just hoping the ones I found works. Waiting for some confirmation a little longer while before making the buy and finding out for myself.

I might go with HIDs or LEDs if they were easy plug-and-play solutions for my 2005, but they're not...

Too bad the guy's pics no longer load up, but he said Vosla +30 for 9012 and newer Korean-manufactured Sylvania for 9011

Can the stock wiring handle 100W bulbs?
