Lots of weird electrical issues with my '07

I recently started having a bunch of weird problems all pop at once on my 07 4runner. None of these issues existed before, so they must all be connected to each other somehow.
  1. When I turn the vehicle off sometimes the rear windshield wipers turn on and never turn off. I even tried pulling the fuse for the rear wipers but they stay on!
  2. Keyfob no longer works
  3. Air conditioning and clock stay on after shutting the vehicle off and removing key
  4. Daytime running lights stay on

At this point, I need to disconnect the negative cable from the battery everywhere I go. Has anyone ever heard of an issue like this!? Greatly appreciate any help!

All I can say is weird! How can that possibly be happening? Hopefully one of the electronic gurus will come forward with an "oh yeah, here's what you do".

I guess let's get the obvious questions out of the way first?

-Did you check all the fuses for the vehicle (under the hood/under the dash?)
-Any Aftermarket wiring (Alarms, Mods, Remote Start, etc?) installed?
-Any recent or prior water damage to the vehicle?
-Have you had your windshield replaced recently and has it rained/snowed since then?

Also, off the top of my head; how well does the rear door function? Do the dome lights go out when you close the doors? I am curious if one of the commonalities/places to consider is the back door ECU since that could cause some of those symptoms (I suppose the ignition switch/circuit could also be another spot to look at.)

If I have some time today I'll dig up the EWD and see what looks common on those.

Sounds like electrical Gremlins. Dont feed the 4runner after 12pm and dont get it wet.

From my experience if the things Blackworks list dont work, an rodent might have eaten the harness(common on toyotas), used to see at least 2 a week when i did insurance appraisals. it could be some chewed wires that are hitting a constant feed thus your accessories are staying on.

Just something to consider.

In addition to aftermarket controls such as alarms and remote start, a failed door close switch can cause similar issues (except for the rear wiper to my knowledge).

When you try to lock it with the key fob and all doors closed, does it beep once and lock up?

Wanted to post a followup in case anyone else ever has this issue. I ended up replacing the battery and after letting it sit overnight the next morning all of the issues disappeared. It has been about a month and no issues whatsoever.

I suppose the battery was going bad and thats what caused everything.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Might want to do a follow-up check on the alternator brushes. If that alternator has 200k miles or more, and they haven't been replaced, they could be low enough to allow only intermittent charging, and wearing the battery down. Replacement brush assembly is about $20 and extremely simple to replace.
