4th gen seat wear?

I have an 06 V6 sport with 33,000mi and the other day I noticed a good amount of wear on the side of the drivers seat in one spot (the back part of the seat I think it's called the side boyster?? or something like that?) and I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem?

I think im going to stop into the dealer and have them make a note of it before I hit 36K. There is no way this seat will last me a few more years before a tear or a wear hole starts.

Does anyone have any good seat covers they would recommend?

I think I know what your talking about , but a pic would help.

I have about 30k , mine is wearing a little but looks fine. They are actually just covers that zip on and off at least the backs do , not sure about the bottoms.

Yea I have 60k and since I'm only 5' 4" the seat gets the most wear and there is like no wear on it currently.

Re: 4th gen seat wear?

I think you are referring to the bolsters. They typically get the most wear on the right side (or left side for the passenger's seat) due to the amount of wear caused by rubbing against it when you get in and out of the truck. No idea why yours would be worn at the back though. Maybe the driver always carried something in his back pocket (e.g., a wallet) that always rubbed there. I've no idea about seat covers but I've seen them discussed here before. Try a search. Good luck.

Often they are just dirty and need a good scrubbing/shampooing....

I have a 07' Sport and while the stock seats are "OK" for fabric, I don't expect them to hold up very well in the long run.

It would have been nice if Toyota offered a "leatherette" ala VW, instead of fabric.

If you are in for the long haul with your 4runner, I'd opt for some covers.

Update on the seat:

I went by the stealership today and they were great they took one look and said we will replace the seat cover

I must say that my local dealer has been quite good this is why we just bought a new camry from them.

Id be curious about a pic as well. I wonder if something you wear can contribute to the problem like a comb in your back pocket or something like that. My seats look fine after 42,000 miles.

Go leather! The kit on EBay is pretty good quality and it is not that difficult to install.
