Auto head lights not turning off

Good afternoon, so I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my 03 4runner.

Normally when I park my vehicle I hit the lock button twice on my fob and the headlights shut off. This hasn't been happening recently and have come out to a dead battery twice now.

I'll open the drivers side, close it, try locking again and the lights are still on. Open either the passenger or the back drivers door, close it, hit the lock button again and they'll shut off.

I've tried replacing the door switch on both passenger and back doors, no luck. Anyone had this problem before?

Thank you in advance!

Having the same issue

Im having the same issue on my 2008 v8 limited. I gave up on finding a solution and have just made sure to turn the auto headlight off then back on when it gets stuck. Sometimes it works normally and other times the headlights stay on. No clue what could be causing this it came out of nowhere and seems like a weird issue to have.

In my past experiences this is sometimes a ECM or BCM not sure what toyota calls it, the computer. Have you tried just disconnecting the battery overnight?
