Maintance for used '05 with 170k

I just bought a used '05 and it's had basically no preventative maintenance done. I plan on doing the spark plugs, diff oil, and transmission fluid. Anything else I should take care of?

V8 or V6

If v8 timing belt and water pump shortly. In either case you should also change the power steering fluid.

Flushes on brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, transfer case, and front diff. Hit your driveline zerks with some grease.

Depending on your longer term plans, you may want to check a few things on your suspension as well.

bought with 165000 now 230,000

v8 - Start with the timing belt. If you don't know it is good, youre playing with fire.

Grouping tasks that are in the same area helps.

Brakes and Fluids: diffs and transfer, lube driveshafts, grease all zerks, rotors and pads (I did these first - if you can't stop the rest is immaterial)
cheap and easy plus you get a good look at any rust

Front of engine - timing belt kit, drive bellt tensioner kit, thermostat and re-seal housing, replace hoses, coolant and radiator.

After that - pick an area

Top of engine - valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, plug seals, PCV valve, clean throttle body

Suspension: I did upper ball joints, aftermarket new LCAs with bushings, swaybar bushings, tierod ends, installed rear airbags (i tow), shocks (XRES removed)

Assuming you don't discover any major issues, you will have gotten a great look at the drivetrain and suspension. You can make any decision about fancying it up at that point.

I got a 2WD V6 with similar mileage. So far I've:
  • Replaced air filter, removed HCF filter
  • Replaced PCV valve
  • Changed differential fluid
  • Replaced sticking calipers, new rotors and pads, flushed brake fluid
  • Replaced broken sway bar links
  • Greased ball joints
  • Replaced spark plugs
  • Power steering fluid flush
  • Replaced leaking valve cover gaskets
  • Cleaned throttle body and MAF sensor
  • A couple Seafoam gas treatements and an intake treatment
  • Serviced transmission fluid ~5.5 qts and replaced transmission filter
  • Replaced all coolant

On top of regular oil changes of course. Got a couple samples looked at from Blackstone to gauge the engine condition and waiting for the last one for the transmission fluid. At this point, I feel like it's in super healthy shape. I've learned a lot about maintenance this past year.
