Love the new stearing wheel too.
- I actually bought everything from Crutchfield: head unit, module, and adapters (see photo below of module and adapter that i used).

- I had a local shop install it all as they only charged $100. I told the installer that I was not going to be using the talk button on the steering wheel and he was able to add shortcut for me to hold that button to access the tire pressure information. Sorry can't be any more helpful as I didn't do the install myself.

Here is the link to the details on the module.
iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module Connect a new stereo and retain the steering wheel audio controls and factory amps in select 2006-up vehicles at Crutchfield

The steering wheel upgrade has been one of my favorite. Love the feel of the dimpled steering wheel.

Great thanks!!! My steering wheel is stock and has the mode and volume on left side but doesn't have the phone controls, your post gave me the idea to possibly add the phone on right side after seeing your break down of the wheel. I just hope the harness is there so I don't have to run any extra wires. But I am definitely going to get the maestro so I can have the tire pressure read out.

I went a cheaper route for my '08 4R Sport

I got an Atoto A6 Pro with the CRUX SWRTY-61J for steering wheel control retention.

However got everything installed and working except for the life of me I can't get the steering wheel controls to work.

I can only ever get 2 buttons to program, but even still only one button will ever work.

Otherwise nice Android touchscreen deck with a lot of features for a good price.

HI guys, I replaced my old aftermarket head Unit with a new Kenwood DNX997xr and wanted the MAESTRO RR so i can get tire pressure and gauges, I also purchased the to1 harness, long story short my truck original HU was the TOM TOM one, I took the new HU to a place to have it installed after 3 hours the guys says he cant install the MAESTRO or the to1 in my truck cause it is not compatible, I told him I knew other people have installed it and it works. They hard wired the kenwood splicing wires to truck wiring and installed a axxess steering wheel control. Anyway they charged me $350 for the install but didnt install the MAESTRO or to1 is there anyone that can help me out in the NJ shore area? I feel like I got completely ripped off by the install shop.

I really wanted this installed but I am not good with wire tracing and stuff like that to do it myself...

I actually found the wire harness layout for the urban runner with tom tom HU. You can see how different it is from normal 4runners. Can someone help me install the maestro RR and T01 wire harness adapter? I am not good with wire diagrams

Hey, can your screen slide up higher than you currently have it mounted? I am wanting to add a stereo with apple carplay, but I have a bunch of switches in my lower din of the radio slot. Wondering if this will fit above the switches where my current single din radio sits and not have the screen cover the switches. Thanks

I really enjoy my Pioneer DMH-1700NEX. Has car play and so much more. They go on sale a ton too so you can pick it up pretty cheap. I bought a harness from Crutchfield.

Every time time I look on Crutchfield over the past 2 years, they are out of stock for most Pioneer units. I've been in desperate need of something new, but I want a nice system.

Hey quick question. Your ebay link for the steering wheel in the other thread is dead. I have stock on my 2008 with no phone controls on the right side (just dummy/fixed 'buttons' in place of). Would I be able to purchase the phone function buttons to use for that or tire pressure, etc. without getting the new wheel?

I just bought the harness from them and the head unit from a local store. They are regularly on sale - make sure to get it price matched!

the head units are available in local outlets but not Crutchfield/Best Buy? That seems backwards

sorry about the late reply. Mine was the same, just blank buttons on the right side. I was able to add the phone buttons on the right and it connects to the ones on the left side via a cable.

You don't need a new wheel to add the buttons. I merely did it because mine was quite worn out.

Fantastic audio settings and with Maestro i get all my TPMS pressures and temps plus tons of customisation. I can also add front and side cameras.

Sorry for the (probably) very stupid (newbie here), but what is Maestro? A software for pulling info from your 4Runner?
