Sway Bar Blocking YZZD3 Oil Filter?

So I bought a case of YZZD3 OEM oil filters. However my front sway bar is blocking the filter from going on? Tires are on the ground, what am I missing fellas?

Do you have the v6 or the v8? I believe one takes the yzzd1 and one takes the yzzd3. The thread is the same on both, but D1 is a bit shorter than the D3, so you likely need the D1.

I have a V8. This is the V8 filter and Toyota shows it compatible?

You could always just remove the sway bar. Filter fits just fine without it and handling is fine too.

I run the YZZD3 on my 03 V8 and don't recall there being a fitment issue with that filter before I removed the sway bar.

Just a thought as well. A little more work but you could also unbolt the sway bar links from the spindles and rotate it out of the way.

That definitely looks significantly taller than the standard filter.

I have the V8 and there’s a lot of clearance for the filter so that larger filter would probably work. Didn’t know it was so tight by the filter for the V6

No question the D3 is for V8 (also fits V6), I have an '03 V8 and only filter I use on it and changing is no problem.

The V6 actually has the filter near the oil fill neck up top of the engine.

Chances are if you removed the sway bar to get the filter on, the sway bar will likely rotate into the filter... at best putting a dent in it. At worst, splitting it open at the mounting seam.

My ADDCO bars contact the standard sized oil filter, regularly putting a dent in it. I use an even shorter one to ensure it doesn't contact.

I'm not sure what the bend differences are between the OEM and ADDCO bars, but I'd imagine if it's nearly an interference fit at rest, there's a good chance the OEM bar will contact under hard cornering.
