2007 SR5 4WD Wheel Bearing Replacement

I had new tires installed yesterday and the shop owner informed my I had a bearing going out. I have heard a slight noise but thought it was just noisy tires. I guess I was wrong.

I found a video last night and watched it...is it a relatively easy job?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LId0MgZ37OA&feature=youtu.be

The last time I changed wheel bearings was on a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer with nearly 180,000 miles. I remember using a bearing puller and greasing it up rather a lot.

This Toyota looks completely different than what I expected...but at first glance the video looks easier. If it is that easy, and reason not to just do both rear bearings at the same time?

Which parts on RockAuto would be recommended?

Its an easy job. The bolts on the caliper and hub are of a large enough diameter that should not shear even if your 4Runner is replete with corrosion. Penetrating oil, torch, some longer wrenches, and crows feet for torque specs are helpful but not necessary.

Timken and Centric.

Edit, if you want front hubs, which is what the gent in the video did, you need the integrated bearing and hub. SKF.

I'll be doing rear first, probably as a pair if it's a quick job. I guess I need to find a video showing rear bearing replacement, is it relatively the same?

It looks like the rear is quite a bit more involved than the front? The parking brakes have to be dealt with and from what I see the bearing should be pressed off and on with a press?

I've read that this can be done at NAPA, is that recommended?
