P0420/P0430 Fix - Ordered Sensors, Need Help w/ Spacers

Hello again all!

I hope everyones summers are off to an awesome start!

So, my 2004 T4R, V6, with 322,XXX miles threw a P420/P430 combo code at my after a shallow creek crossing yesterday. Going to start cheap, with replacing both downstream O2 sensors, and work from there.

I ordered the following sensors from Ebay:

Denso 234-4805 and Denso 234-4804

I want to install sensor spacers as well when I replace the O2 sensors since I do not live in an emissions state.

I was thinking of ordering these spacers from Lord Bezos but wanted to confirm I am ordering the RIGHT spacers before I pull the trigger:

Amazon.com: O2 Sensor Protective Shell Plug Adapter M18 x 1.5,2 PCS: Automotive

Can anyone confirm these are the "right" spacers to avoid any further P0420 and P0430 issues moving forward? If they are NOT the right spacers, can anyone point me in the right direction towards the right spacers?

Hi,
My 4Runner was also showing this code for quite a while. I bought 2 cans of seafoam. I asked my mechanic to take out both the O2 sensors before the cats and pour the can on each side. Leave it there over night. Then start the 4runner in the morning.
It'll smoke like hell but if there's a lot of carbon deposit on the cats the seafoam will clean it. My codes went away after doing this.
Sometimes the codes show up if the efficiency is 94% instead of 95%.
You can do this at home if you are mechanically inclined. Cheap method. Might work for you too. There are lots of videos on you tube about this. Check them out.

Cheers

Say Hello to my Lil Friend

These are the best solution. Getting generic "spacers" may or may not work at all and may or may not fit at all.

If you go to autozone/Oriely/NAPA etc. just ask for a spark plug extender or spark plug bung. They are pretty universal and work great. I have done this on a couple of cars and trucks and the CEL has gone away and never returned.
