URGENT: UCA stuck on coilover giving me a 6 inch lift?

Hey guys,
Gonna need some advise here.
Installed some bilstein 5100/OME 884s (lowest perch) up front with the toytec 1/4 spacer. I did a TON of research before doing this, and I should be getting a 2.75 ish lift in the front. Lowered the truck and the UCA is essentially stuck on the coilover and won't fully compress, keeping my truck way high up. CVs look super sketchy and of course the UCA is snagged so I won't be driving it.
Natural thought is new UCAs, but it seems the shocks were kind of lobsided inside the coilover (see pic), this having the coil poke out more than it should.

So would knew UCAs fix my issue or are these coilovers just not gonna work? Could I try and reseat the coil?

Disassemble the struts. Make sure the spring is straight and seated in the perch all the way. Make sure the bushings and washers are seated properly on the top hat

A simple solution that could work would be taking the coilovers off and rotating them where the bulged side is pointing inwards to the coil bucket. I would give this a shot before you throw stuff you may not need into it (nothing to lose, amiright?)

You could also try using washers to misalign and better center the UCA on the coil. If you combined that with disassembling the coilover and attempting to center the coil (might never happen if the coil had a manufacturing defect or sagged strangely) and adding positive camber, you could probably solve this without buying something like SPC adjustable UCAs.

Hey man I could be wrong, but looks like you have the lower coil seats upside down. This will cause the coil to not sit properly and bulge out like this as the coil is being compressed far far more then it's supposed to be, especially with those ome spring being longer and stiffer as is. This is a very common mistake, hell even mine were like this for a long time back when I had 5100s and stock coils. It can be very dangerous though because obviously the seat isn't supposed to sit like that so it slowly comes undone, when I eventually took off the 5100s I realized they were upside down and the seat was dangerously close to coming off.

Yep, this dude is right, your coild seat is upside down. Take a look at this stock photo here, you can see how there is no black perch below the coil:

Nailed it. It’s definitely upside down. I’m extremely impressed you were able compress the spring enough to get it screwed down.

I can't believe I missed that! I took my bilstiens out today and could see his issue the instant I looked at it again. I ruined some of the threads on my spring compressor when I put mine together (I still had to use the weight of the vehicle to put them together too), so I have no clue how they were able to put them together like that.

I'm so glad that you had the sense that something wasn't right with this. You wouldn't believe how many people would be thrilled they got an extra 3 inches of lift and hit the road like that. The same road that my wife and kids might be driving on. Some people should never be allowed to touch a single tool until the first learn to use the tool between their ears. Update the final result with pics as I am also considering to use the same setup on my 4th Gen. Thanks
NCH
